Dream - Mayed Al Qasimi 29/10/2009
The sky has worn its cloak And I am still awake The dream I am to see Is hazed and so I shake Outside a frog will croak A lily on a lake And so with childish glee In mischief I partake The magic I convoke The quacking of a drake Come out and dance with me On top of a snowflake Night pixies I evoke So time I can retake What creature can I be That night will soon forsake 8 Comments Deafly - Mayed Al Qasimi 02/09/2009
Deafly are the crows to the cries of an eland Heaven hath no place for the braggarts of our land All are created equal and society is the stand Where those of sundry creed walk the humbled sand Imagine a fable where you are the hound And demons every right and left devour the ground To save the world you must uncover the mound Where buried is a treasure that will surely astound When such a discovery then is said to be found Will hope and peace across the continents redound For it is within us the power to resound Across the known galaxies the call of the sound Earth - Mayed Al Qasimi 19/08/2009
O brothers banded, brave and bold Come join our new rebellion For life is but a story told Let's take back our dominion Illuminate the cup you hold Fill it with ambition And warm the hearts that are so cold In search of their contrition The stars are bright and wise and old The past is what you see The light refracted not foretold The futures yet to be The Earth, dissected, cut and sold An unjust tragedy When oceans dry and mountains fold What then for you and me Together we can save the world From animosity For no amount of green or gold Will take my liberty | AuthorMayed Al Qasimi ArchivesJanuary 2012 PoemsAll |
