My life is empty without you
I have no will to see this through
You were my world my closest friend
I wish this pain to never end

I hear you calling when I sleep
I see you playing in my dreams
I wake and clutch my broken heart
And cry again for we’re apart

I’d trade my all to have you back
My Pixie cat insomniac
The darkest nights we cuddled tight
You brought me back from death’s cold bite

This universe is so unfair
All I see now is grey despair
No hope remains without you here
The cracks appear for gloom and fear

If time can heal my deep sorrow
Please let it not be tomorrow
For if I can be whole again
What was the purpose of this then

Confidant - Mayed Al Qasimi

From time gone by and years to come
You’ve been a friend my confidant
The world descending made us glum
And yet we stood against their taunt

We faced our fears until we won
In this respect ‘tis fair to vaunt
But even when all’s said and done
The darkness finds a way to haunt

Through wearing trials that made us strong
We were each other’s symbiont
To grow together and belong
This brotherhood is all I want

Pain - Mayed Al Qasimi

I never thought I'd hear
The words of hate and fear
You may as well have used a knife

It still is so unclear
The pain I had to bear
To let nothing be done through strife

I never thought I'd see
The hurt you did to me
You paint my agony in life

I'm sad you cannot be
The love and empathy
This world in cruelty is rife

Our hearts are not
Our own to keep
We choose to bleed
For love we leap

In fields of grass
On hills so steep
We hold on tight
To never sleep

Lost in this moment
In eyes so deep
I drown once more
Yet none shall weep

My heart has asked me
To tell you something
It yearns to be
A honey bee in spring

It wants to fly
Above the blue
It may be coy
But it's always true

With you I found life
Dissolving the sadness
Embracing my wife
Circulating gladness

My heart has asked me
To tell you something
It aches you see
For the love you bring

It wants to cry
When it sees you
Overwhelmed by joy
The closer we grew

With you I found life
Dissolving the sadness
Embracing my wife
Circulating gladness

My heart has asked me
To tell you something
This melody
Is played on its string

From the soft skin on the nape of your neck
Through your arms and to your fingers so light
With the warm air mixing breath upon breath
To your heartbeat I shall cherish this night

If I could bottle this, the way I feel
I'd keep it for you, for when I'm no more
So that you may know then that you are loved
And that you are the one whom I adore

Our love has been a magical journey
Thaumaturgy of a hidden age lost
Do not weep now for I am still with you
This elegy is naught but dew as frost

In seas as blue as gold
The deep another moon
To my love I shall leave you the world
All the green and the purple behold

Somewhere the flow will sink
As sweet as anything
And so it begins
This music of waves old
A fresh and wet morning dew

Don't want to miss your touch
Don't want to feel this much
I want nothing from life but your love
You and I are like stars up above

Don't want to be alone
Don't want to be unknown
To your heart I'll be
A flower to a bee
Don't want to be without you

When all the worlds carefully collide
Drink from me, the island made of light
Speak no more and breathe in all delight
Find the key to happiness inside

Sing of love and memories beside
Like a window that lets in sunlight
Forge a sword and battle darkest night
Wake again and meet the day outside

Seek the place where daffodils reside
Seven ages are there for the bright
Seven signs that we are out of sight
To them all your secrets you confide

As the days row by and the nights sail through
My soul clings to hope, to the thought of you
One heart full of love, like a bird it flew
Light pair beats the air to soar high and true

When I see to it that the morning dew
In a can collects and come dawn speaks blue
I shall dream of you like I always do
Swim to you and lay in our red canoe

Life holds mysteries; strangely I sing to
Hold on to the truth that the seas outgrew
And find the secret that the stars once threw
By then you will find what a few more knew

Love one well and learn much of the value
That their touch can bring; a soft kiss or two
By your loving care, my health you renew
Silently, unbound, the happy wind blew

When time stops by like the sea's foam
Endless and quiet, soft to me
All sound fades but your loved heart's thrum
Reach for them and never let go

Early twilight, I hear a roar
Beneath the sky, the number pi
Under my world I taste and see
The painful past, the memories

So evil you are
What shall you do next?
Knock on dry wood
Or punish the hexed

So evil you are
What shall you do next?
My freedom died
When it was annexed

So evil you are
What shall you do next?
The world collapsed
And now I am vexed

Cube - Mayed Al Qasimi

Once upon a much slower time
There was a Kingdom ruled by one
A man that cared and was so kind
To all his subjects, his kinsmen

He loved his people very much
He served and bled, the ideal son
This northern land, this green and blue
His vision made it an Eden

One quiet day he took a stroll
Far up a hill and past a stream
Where to his eyes he saw a lake
That he once saw in a far dream

Beyond the lake he found a tree
With leaves of gold, yellow and cream
He walked with one hand on his heart
Towards the tree that sang agleam

With outreached arms he touched a branch
And felt it shake with drops of rain
But when he looked upon the sky
There were no clouds in this domain

He understood what that tree saw
In that moment all was inane
As he was jolted back to Earth
The moons had come and he felt pain

Stumbling aside he saw a bird
His heart still aching from his trip
He took some seeds from his pocket
To feed the sad bird with a skip

It just stood there beside the tree
Not knowing what was in the scrip
But when he poured the seeds from it
The bird, now happy, did a flip

With curious and most grateful eyes
It pecked some seeds and flew away
He watched as it landed nearby
On a smaller tree with a sway

From this short distance he could hear
The birds’ twitter, “Thank you” they say
And so with an accomplished heart
He sat down, on his back he lay

Slowly he fell asleep and dreamt
Of green waterfalls and blue waves
But suddenly without a sign
Darkness came to make of them graves

He shook his head and wiped the tears
He feared his people turned to slaves
By the cold lake he silently
Washed his face and thought of his staves

Which one to use? Which one he’ll raise?
The staff of hope or staff of love
The staff of war or staff of peace
The staff that always glows above

He made his way through silent trees
Of only them he could think of
His people were to face evil
That fit a man just like a glove

The omen he saw at the tree
Told of a time of misery
A time where justice is a myth
An atmosphere that is sickly

The architect of such a plan
An Ose that craves what is filthy
A creepy face so full of puss
Its mouth speaks words made blistery

A hound from Hell shall rule with hate
Its Kingdom shall fall into debt
A debt that cripples innocence
To humankind it is a threat

This hound shall kill and rape the dead
Devouring all that it can get
The Ose shall laugh at such a state
The hound from Hell, a rabid pet

Our hero reached his Kingdom walls
To find that fire raged inside
He found the streets with crumpled lumps
The little children dead, he cried

In all this darkness he saw light
When from the skies a bird did glide
Towards the gate he heard a noise
It was the light that he had spied

It moved across and shone so bright
A lady lying on the sand
He took his cape and wrapped her up
She smiled and kissed him on his hand

“I am the bird you saved today...”
She said whilst coming to a stand
She had come here to warm his heart
To take him back to the woodland

He went with her to Golden Tree
For several years he was to wait
To learn how to defeat evil
He had to learn how not to hate

The lady kept him safe from them
The evil hound and its sick mate
He will return and save his home
For after all it is his fate

Golden Tree drops the sweetest fruit
Antiquity from this Jujube
Sorry to say but this concludes
The first part of the story “Cube”

Cold months have passed since our hero
Last stood in his humble Kingdom
The forces of the evil Ose
Now try to prevent his freedom

The darkest scum that oozed from Hell
Its aim to turn all to sodom
Under the shadow it now moves
To bound all people in thraldom

So many fell and more to go
But there is hope in all that passed
For our hero to his ideals
Shall solemnly remain steadfast

In pure and in princely nature
The evil Ose is most outclassed
As long as people are of good
This putrid mass shall never last

Our hero of the gentle soul
Atop a mountain of the mind
He sits and waits for time to fall
Upon this land of masses blind

The evil Ose shows out of fear
The filthy nature of its kind
When failing in its tyranny
It runs with its tail tucked behind

But surely it can clearly see
In this world it does not belong
No matter how far this Ose runs
It changes not that it is wrong

All it has done to our hero
When it believed that it was strong
Shall come back and devour it
And when it dies there shall be song

High up the mountain you will find
A cabin with a starlit room
Within it pacing silently
The lady with a healthy bloom

Together with our hero she
Lives happily away from gloom
This will to live, love and to laugh
The evil Ose cannot consume

Of pure nature you have to be
To climb here and reach the summit
The Ose's pet, the rabid hound
Died when struck by a small comet

It couldn't reach the mountain top
Its nature that of a maggot
The magic that protects the peak
Has been a well-guarded secret

Our hero now on his quest goes
Another page in his memoir
He moves to find the brightest light
The life force of a falling star

To reach the land of pulsing beams
He needs to travel very far
Into his mind and through the maze
Of the everlasting quasar

Travelling by night and through the woods
Moving towards the north blue moon
Behind a wall of ancient trees
He happened upon a lagoon

He saw a glimmer on a rock
A beauty you cannot oppugn
It mesmerised him, in his place
He stood as he began to swoon

In all her brilliance she lay bare
Upon the rock her truth displayed
The rarest of the magic realm
He had found a young lake mermaid

She beckoned for him to come near
And so he quickly passed the glade
Into the water he then went
Her soft gaze he could not evade

The legends speak of her splendour
Her skill to put you in a trance
The legends also speak of hope
If you find one a wish she grants

Our hero, now beside her, holds
The key to fight the Ose perchance
Revealing to her his story
She gives to him the Cube of Chance

The Cube of Chance will help him find
The brightest star in all the land
And with it he will soon bring back
Peace to the realm, good will expand

The evil Ose shall then decay
From this Kingdom it shall be banned
For honour and love our hero
Will always and forever stand

Back in the cabin high above
The lady waits for his return
Beside the fireplace she sits
Staring at the seasoned wood burn

The night around the cabin comes
The porch is lit by a lantern
The moons are coming into view
She stares outside in aching yearn

Golden Tree drops the sweetest fruit
Antiquity from this Jujube
Sorry to say but this concludes
The next part of the story “Cube”

The Cube of Chance in his right hand
Leading the way in this dark night
Our hero having travelled far
Stops now to rest under moonlight

In his search for the brightest star
He came across a woodland sprite
Another of the magic realm
That helped his way to end the blight

It showed him through the Ose’s fog
A cursed land filled with demons
Once he moved past the deadly maze
He reached the forest of damsons

Though he has suffered on this quest
His will to live never weakens
One step forward, always forward
Throughout many changing seasons

The trees in this discovered land
Shine brightly with their silver fruit
Having had a peaceful night’s rest
He wakes to the sound of a flute

Beneath the morning dew he sees
A wood nymph that was such a beaut
It was her music that he heard
To sunrise it was a tribute

The Cube of Chance now glows and hums
He must be near the star he seeks
It can’t be a coincidence
That she was there beneath the peaks

Our hero quietly collects
His things before the wood nymph freaks
He must not let her see him lest
She disappears for countless weeks

The brightest star he seeks is here
And she will lead him to the grove
The grove where stars grow on the trees
Before they fall to skies above

So soundlessly he followed her
Past forests and a tiny cove
Through winding paths and mountain hills
If only one could colour love

The journey to this magic land
Where stars alight the forest air
Is filled with mystery and charm
And sights of beauty oh-so-rare

Imagination without bounds
And nature made for you to stare
This painting of a midnight sky
Evaporates all of despair

The wood nymph stopped before a stream
And stepped out of her dress shyly
She walked toward the smoothest bank
And stacked her things and clothes neatly

She entered the soft blue water
And summoned a golden nixie
To wash away the journey’s ache
With healing magic done briskly

Once she was dressed she took her flute
And played the warmest melody
Beyond the stream appeared a light
Within a frame that was sturdy

Our hero followed her with stealth
Into the woods that smelled mouldy
And sooner than he could but breathe
He saw a grove of stars windy

His quest to seek the brightest star
Comes to illuminated end
Once he finds what the Cube of Chance
Glows brightest for he will ascend

Before him suddenly she came
Her bravery he must commend
She smiled and pointed to a star
“In us you’ll always have a friend.”

He heard her thoughts in his calm mind
The Cube of Chance now bright and warm
He saw the brightest star fall down
And scooped it up, the strangest form

“Be safe and bring peace to the land.”
Her magic powers not the norm
He thanked her and was on his way
He could smell now the coming storm

For months he travelled with the star
Through nature and what seemed surreal
And finally he reached his land
The lady’s eyes with joy sparkle

He found the Ose later that day
The star to evil a stopple
With the light of love from the star
The sick Ose began to shrivel

As time passed by and goodness grew
His Kingdom too became so grand
That other lands with ancient song
Spread joy to all that would demand

The power of good, brightest star
Darkest evil it shall withstand
Never again shall evil rule
Peace for many centuries spanned

Golden Tree drops the sweetest fruit
Antiquity from this Jujube
Sorry to say but this concludes
The last part of the story "Cube"

Journey - Mayed Al Qasimi

My life is a journey on a road filled with good
I am whistling this tune as I pick firewood
Under the dark night sky I recall my childhood
When times were not changing, I changed not when I should

My friends were the bright stars, the full moon and the truth
When I dreamt I dreamt of you so loving in sooth
Before you I was lonely, unkempt and uncouth
You've made me so happy with your love and your ruth

You're so far from me now, I cannot bear the pain
Until we meet once more, this poor state I'll sustain
Without you my heart is like an empty ghost train
The day you're in my arms is the day it shall rain

And so forward I ride on my trusty bronco
Into the wild night on a feeling I will go
With its breathtaking canyons this trail I follow
Where it will lead me I honestly do not know

If you were a colour I could see
You'd be the colour red

If you were a sound that I could hear
You'd be a gentle wave

If you were a flavour I could taste
You'd be the sweetest bread

If you were a fabric I could touch
You'd be the softest silk

If you were a scent that I could smell
You'd be a rose full bloom

For all of these senses do betray
The rare beauty that's you

The void within speaks of a time
When people lived a life of rhyme
Delayed are those, the kind that think
That they are most significant

No logic, sense or peace of mind
In what they do, defeat they'll find
Delivered from the ideal mode
You shall be if you walk this road

Eternal farms of cultured soil
Wrapped are their heads in hats of foil
For coming now as it has then
A storm become the value ten

A surreal influx of red moons
Adapted from the ancient runes
Sit down, relax and watch the show
For all of this ends tomorrow

When in the most depressing hour
When life begins to taste of sour
When you perceive the world as dour
Stand tall, my friend, stand tall

Beware, for want does evil leak
Obsession maketh man's soul weak
Of only good things must you speak
Your troubles melt and fall

Live full and hear your heart's warble
For time is not redeemable
Make every move one that's thoughtful
And you shall gain it all

You will not beat us
We will not desist
As long as we breathe
We shall all persist

We do not fear you
You are a coward

Your schemes are haggard

Your will shall not be
We are Julfar's dome
For honour and love
We shall return home

Seduce me, confuse me
Tell a lie
You tease me, raining you pour
As minutes pass
I'll watch the hourglass
Till I have you near

And days fall, and nights fall
From up high
A vision you can't ignore
It is my fate
On that I shall fixate
Till I have you near amour

My heart climbs, you're sublime
I see your face appear
But I'm only dreaming of the day you're here

Come love me, and hold me
Let us fly
Softly we shall kiss and soar
Above the grass
My thoughts I shall amass
Till I have you near amour

And magic, your magic
Has spelled me in this sphere
I am simply mesmerized by you my dear

And moons fall, and stars fall
Comets cry
Like seashells they come to shore
And so I wait
For that appointed date
Till I have you near amour

Tears - Mayed Al Qasimi

Her eyes were like a starry sky
Oh night let me be her knight
Tears on her cheeks so pretty
Way rivers meet so witty

Her smile begs a million smiles
To dawn let it stay foregone
Hope this night will never end
Make that it froze I'll pretend

Her hips sway with such a trip
Dazzling me with mystery
Love is a journey we take
Through fields of flowers that break

Her hands touch a new romance
Like whistles to eardrums meet
That tingling slow sensation
Builds to a strong foundation

Her voice on an octave lives
So sweet I cannot deny
My eyes water up to free
All that I conceal from thee

Her skin of a soft satin
Under the moonlight it shines
Alluring to forever
And there he appears to her

Her song with me out of time
Forgotten she walks on by
To join another poor man
Where one ended one began

Her final act made me cry
For her I would give my life
Yet she chose to neglect me
And plant seeds of agony

Her vanity not her fault
But that of those who deceive
She wanted so much to run
Unfortunately not done

Her wish was to spread some joy
Those vultures of happiness
Took all that away from us
Of true love they were jealous

So now I just wait to die
Unless she returns to me
Just the thought of her away
I cannot observe this day
Now I will fade and decay

I see pain, I see jeers
I see sadness all these years
Don't you know?
Life holds too many sad stories

Each and every story
Holds a truth to absent glory
Let it be known
Let it be known

I see love, I see fears
I see goodness all my dears
Don't you know?
Life is too short for worries

Become a person learned
And you will be rewarded
He will return
He will return

I see death, I see tears
I see misery and biers
Don't you know?
Life is sacred in all its glories

Killing your victims
Will never solve your problems
It'll make it worse
It'll make it worse

In your heart you will find
Renewed faith in humankind
Don't you know?
Our world is neighbouring cities

So love one another
Mother, sister, father, brother
Our children don't deserve
To face our mistakes

You touch my heart in ways I can't see
You make me happy as happy can be
The sound of your voice is a symphony
You're more than my destiny

The wind cradles the pure scent of you
Filling my mind with a breath of your hue
I can't remember a feeling as true
My lonely heart beats anew

Your skin feels warm to touch and to kiss
Your lips taste as sweet as heavenly bliss
Your eyes are shy yet I cannot dismiss
The frisson of your bodice

I will hold you now close to my chest
To keep you warm as my love will attest
The way I feel is so seldom expressed
I love you it is confessed

Hold on, reminisce and drown despair
My friends you are as sunlight and a breath of fresh air

Be true, I care for you, I'll be there
A promise I will keep till the end of days, I swear

If someday you're not feeling alright
I'll do all I can to make your day a bit more bright

Whenever the darkness blinds your sight
I pray that my love for you will keep your path alight

As the fresh, awakening wooden breeze
So sharply and smoothly brushes my cheek
And the crunchy, crippling cloud I walk on
Reminds me of times I do wish to keep

I fall fast to this fast fall of tall trees
Vociferously my conscience doth shriek
For I am to see not what is foregone
But what has been yet unfrozen, I weep

Truth - Mayed Al Qasimi

There is only one truth
Believe that as you would believe the sun
And when the final shot of the rifle rings in your ear
When all that you see begins to fade
As time slows down and in that instant of change you fall
You will realise the truth untouched
May you have the courage to face your fears
And wash away the troubled coat of uncertainty
To begin another verse of your sanity
To recall that which has happened before is true
If little is what much can become
When all that is begets another truth variably
To the extent that what you understand to be
Is only as subtle as the force within
As the days become unearthed to defiance
And the nights repel all senses but one
Will the lever of age reveal a hint of a condition
That rarely is seen but is as cancer
One becomes two becoming more
Forever the faucet of life deteriorating
